When your efforts are supported and appreciated by Science and Technology Innovation stalwarts in the campus and in the country...

| Tell me who your supporters are... and I'll tell you 'what' you are! :) |
...does that mean, you are actually doing something along the innovation line, too... and, perhaps, doing a few things right? Aw, gosh, we sure hope we are! :) "Innovention", the 2012 edition of the "UST Chemical Engineering-Rebisco Product Innovation Challenge + Mini Expo", was such a fantastic feat, and it's hard to keep joy hinged on jubilation alone. Therefore... oh, humility, please come! I need you right now! :)

Blast-off to innovation outer space... up, up, and away!
Yes, we have managed to "throw ourselves" out there! From a 15-entry "mini-er than mini" product development challenge and exhibit at Room 110 of the UST Engineering Building in 2008, we grew to a 52-entry "Product Innovation Challenge + Mini Expo" at the UST Qudricentennial Pavilion Covered Court this year... ah, it looks like we have managed to grow our "baby rocket" to an "Innovation Enterprise" and sent it out in a blast-off to the innovation outer space!
And it's all because... we have brilliant students - past and present!
Ah, UST Chemical Engineering Batch 2013... how do I describe you, guys? I wish Mr. Webster had words to describe people like you... but he hasn't! Naturally, I haven't either! Your unassuming and understated awesomeness limits my vocabulary... you put the 'bottomlessness' of innovation to utter shame! Ah, and what a shame, too!
| Our "INNOVENTORS"... The UST Chemical Engineering Batch 2013... indescribable --- in an, oh, so fantastic way! :) |
Of course, TEAMWORK always works... and enable people to achieve great things... but there has to be leaders to steer the "innovation ship" that is mightily loaded with ideas in the exciting world of technology breakthroughs. Therefore, thanks to Miss Tiffany Faye S. Caranto and her "side-kick" (yeah, we women, "kicked" his ego around a lot during the preparations. What fun! Haha... sorry, Russel. Hehe...), Mr. Russel James A. Bernabe, for their steadfast commitment in putting our Department's Innovation Project in the exciting "we're-out-there-already" orbit amidst a whirlwind of challenges! High five, "Madam"! Awesomeness! Woohoo! :)

Of course, there are a lot more fantastic leaders from Batch 2013 who worked so hard - leading by example - to mobilize everyone in the Batch in making the event such a success... Joan Cartagena, Trisha Ferrer and Sayron Caracas (package deal? Hope this wouldn't pop-up in your Mom's browser, Trisha. Hehe...), Tope Torzar, Fracelyn Balagtas, Gabo Guinto and Charles Verayo... and so many more! Sorry, guys, if I've missed your names here... my memory is failing me right now. I would admit to age-related memory gaps... but let's not go there! :)
CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners in the Challenge, and to the scene stealers ("People's Choice" awardees), too! Fantastic!
Obviously, I'm going to be writing about this again when work lets up a little. In the meantime, THANK YOU, Batch 2013! It was a truly joyful privilege to have worked with all of you. You ALL did a GREAT JOB! The WHOLE Chemical Engineering Department is VERY PROUD of you... especially me, of course! :) CONGRATULATIONS!!! :)

Giving thanks...
When lady luck smiles at you, it must be because some angels are doing "their cute thing" to make her smile. And angels do that because prayers move them... and prayers move them because the One who is Holy - up there on the clouds - make prayers work that way! Therefore, THANKS, to the One who makes everything, including fulfilling a BIG DREAM, possible! Amen.
